The HKUST Li & Fung Supply Chain Institute, a groundbreaking collaboration between HKUST and Li & Fung Group, is set to advance global supply chain management. With a mission to drive real- world impact in an ever-evolving landscape, the Institute engages in collaborative research, develops critical business intelligence through industry studies, and nurtures talent through tailored executive education and partnership programs. This initiative aims to push the boundaries of innovation and create a dynamic learning environment for the next generation of supply chain leaders.

HKUST Institute for Financial Research

HKUST Institute for Financial Research is at the forefront of addressing complex social and economic issues through cutting-edge financial research and technological innovation. Serving as an international platform, the Institute promotes practical research that tackles pressing issues, fosters cooperation among diverse stakeholders, and provides valuable insights to industry practitioners and policymakers for informed decision-making. Key research areas include technological Innovations, environmental and social responsibility, wealth management, and macro-finance and geo-economics, all aimed at driving meaningful change in the financial landscape.

Collaboration with Tsinghua University PBCSF

HKUST Business School and Tsinghua University PBC School of Finance have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to deepen collaboration in business education and research. This exciting alliance will leverage the strengths of both institutions to foster academic exchange, joint research initiatives, education and training, as well as other strategic cooperations.

Expanding Student Exchange Opportunities

The School has achieved a new milestone in its internationalization drive by forming a new partnership with Nazarbayev University’s Graduate School of Business, a leading tertiary institution in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. This collaboration, finalized during a school delegation visit, promises to create unique learning experiences and global exposure for students from both institutions.

Our School hosted a forum in Singapore, bringing together experts from academia and industry to explore the thriving developments in family office and supply chain management sectors in the region. Alumni Sharing on Leveraging AI Marketing Tools

As part of our alumni engagement initiatives, we hosted a fireside chat in Hong Kong featuring Ben WONG, Chief Marketing Officer for Greater China at Google, and an HKUST MBA alumnus, alongside Professor HUI Kai-Lung, Acting Dean of the HKUST Business School. BizInsight Forum and Alumni Gathering in Beijing

Co-hosted by our School and Tsinghua University PBC School of Finance, BizInsight Forum in Beijing brought together leaders in academia and industry professionals to exchange ideas on healthcare innovation and the transformative impact of AI in business. Following the forum, hundreds of alumni in the capital city gathered for an evening event, rekindling connections with the School and exploring exciting new opportunities for collaboration and value creation.

Launch of GenAI Platform for the Financial Services Industry

Building on the development of InvestLM — Hong Kong's first open-source large language model for financial generative AI (GenAI) applications — our School has launched an InvestLM-powered generative AI platform tailored for the financial services sector. This innovative platform offers an educational and testing environment for financial institutions, especially small and medium-firms, to explore and evaluate the potential of GenAI solutions. The project's research team is led by Prof. TAM Kar- Yan, Vice-President for Administration and Business, and Chair Professor of Information Systems, along with Prof. YANG Yi, Associate Professor of Information Systems at HKUST.
