The Fung Term Professorship for HKUST Business School’s scholars is established through the generosity of the Victor and William Fung Foundation. The professorship aims to promote academic excellence by supporting distinguished scholars in advancing research, teaching, and innovation within their respective fields.

Prof. LI Yingying has been appointed as a holder of the Fung Term Professorship effective January 1, 2025. Prof. Li is a Chair Professor of the Department of Information Systems, Business Statistics and Operations Management and the Department of Finance. Her research focuses on statistical learning for financial big data, large portfolio optimization, individualized financial decision-making, volatility estimation and prediction, with papers published in top journals in statistics, finance and economics.

Prof. Li is the third recipient of the Fung Term Professorship, following Prof. GONG Yaping at the Department of Management, and Prof. HUNG Mingyi at the Department of Accounting.
